Hello All, If your son is planning to participate in the Varsity San Diego Holliday Hoops Tournament December 26th-30th and you are planning to attend the tournament, you will need to make hotel reservations. The boosters have reserved rooms for the players who will all stay together. We have also reserved a block of king rooms at the Spring Hill Suites Marriot (10232 Scripps Highland Drive San Diego, CA 92131, 858-740-2020) at the rate of $95 plus tax per night. There are seven of these rooms that are available for parents. If you wish to stay there, reservations must be made by November 26th to qualify for this special rate. We must emphasize that these reservations are entirely your responsibility. The boosters can only reserve the block of rooms but cannot make your reservations. Mt. Carmel Tournament Information When: December 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 2008 Where: Mt. Carmel High School 9550 Carmel Mountain Road San Diego, CA 92129 Where do we stay: Springhill Suites by Marriott 10232 Scripps Highland Drive San Diego, CA 92131 (858) 740-2020 When do we leave NP: Friday, December 26th after our 8am one hour practice. We will drive to the gym, stopping for lunch on the way. After our 3pm game, we will go to the hotel and check in. How do we get there: Coaches will drive vans plus parent drivers When do we return home: Tuesday, December 30 after our last game Be sure to bring: Both sets of uniforms, shooter shirt, game sweat bottoms, gray sweats, game-day shirt, practice gear, shoes for outside practice What do the players do about meals: Breakfast is provided by the hotel. Players must bring money for their other meals. Other Reasons to bring $: It is possible we will go see a college game, go bowling, go to the movies or even visit the Wild Animal Park, Sea World or other San Diego attractions. This all depends on when we play and how we behave! Rules: No player will leave the hotel, gym or wherever the team is without the permission of the coaches. Once Coach Johnson gives the players the time they must be in their rooms, the players may not open their doors until breakfast. This means no ordering food, using the phone or using the balcony. Appropriate behavior is expected at all times. Keep conversations and televisions quiet and respect the other hotel guests. We are here to play basketball and the players need their rest. Failure to comply with these or any school rules could result in dismissal from the team and school discipline. Contact: Coach Johnson can be reached on his cell at the tournament: 805 427-2001 Questions Prior to December 26th: Coach J’s email: stejohnson@conejo.k12.ca.us Note: We would like each player to bring a case of bottled water or Gatorade to share with his teammates. We don’t want a dehydrated squad! Thanks, Don |
